The Holt/Becker Duo formed as an experiment in mid 2016. Marc Holt (baritone sax) and Bryn Becker (piano) had been playing together in the Marc Holt Quintet since 2013. The band had always worked in smaller groups for the sake of versatility, but no smaller than a trio. Marc and Bryn decided to expand their versatility by compressing the group further.
